Overview


The Americas Controller is a hands-on position responsible for overseeing monthly close, financial consolidations, cash forecasting, tax coordination and external audit including drafting financial statement footnotes. This position reports directly to the Chief Accounting Officer. The Controller can reside in Dallas, Houston or San Antonio but preferrably in Austin, where is Planview's headquarter. Responsibilities
  • Supervise, lead and motivate the general ledger, tax, payroll, accounts payable, billing and collections, and treasury teams
  • Manage monthly financial close including global consolidation for multiple international entities
  • Be the leader in monthly close including monitoring close status, communicating open items, adhering to deadlines, and collaborating with various departments to facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Review and approve journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and expense analytics
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements including cash flows, equity roll forward, and footnote disclosures
  • Evaluate and continuously improve Planview’s Netsuite system for greater efficiency and accuracy
  • Drive weekly cash flow forecasting (direct method) in partnership with the FP&A team
  • Establish and implement best in class tax and cash management processes
  • Assist in the development, analyses and implementation of new procedures to enhance department workflows
  • Establish, monitor, and document the implementation and maintenance of accounting procedures and processes
  • Review and approve semi-monthly payroll runs
  • Review and approve vendor payments
  • Serve as a liaison with the external auditors, tax auditors and other 3rd parties in matters of accounting policy and regulatory compliance
  • Assist on special projects and ad hoc reporting, as needed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant – current license required
  • At least 10+ years’ work experience, preferably with a mix of public accounting and private industry
  • Familiarity with multi-company and multi-location environment
  • Understanding of international accounting, including multi-currency translations
  • Experience with NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, ADP, and Concur a plus
  • Acquisition integration/purchase accounting experience a plus
  • MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Proven track record in leading accounting teams for high-growth software companies in a venture-backed or private-equity setting
  • Experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination, in accordance with US GAAP
  • Successful track record of setting priorities; keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills that support and enable sound decision-making
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced environment and work independently, proficiently, efficiently and must be able to meet deadlines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
