Job Description:
The Data Processing Analyst 2 is responsible for the updating and managing of software and servers for the School of Veterinary Medicine.
Job Responsibilities:
60% - Application Programming and Design: Design, code, compile, test, and debug highly complex programs as indicated by user and management requests Develop and maintain highly complex ASP.Net/C# code. Prepare program specifications, work assignments, and program testing procedures. Make critical decisions on design, technical requirements and file designs with minimal supervision. Analyze changes, enhancements and/or system designs to ensure data integrity and availability.
25% - Enterprise Service Desk Configuration and Management: Responsible for providing configuration and application support of the enterprise service desk ticket system. Technical assistance and support related to IT and communication equipment. Responds to customer requests for service and maintenance calls, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problem and determines and implements solutions a variety of equipment and electronic devices including PCs, laptops, printers, tablets and smartphones.
10% - Virtual Desktop Support: Provide general support to VMWare Horizon VDI environment including App Stack, Horizon Administrator, Remote Desktop Services, machine and application pools; Manage and monitor Windows Active Directory; Manage VDI environment to include hosts and virtual desktop images; Support the current operating system and developed desktop images on the Microsoft Windows workstations, laptops and tablets; Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
5% - Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of professional level computer experience in systems, databases, and application support.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer related field.
Special and Physical Qualifications:
FERPA - As with all LSU employees, due to this position title and/or responsibilities, this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services. Should a student appear in need of or seek assistance with issues of an emotional, behavioral, or mental health related matter they should be referred to the proper service within the Student Health Center. In situations where the student creates an impression that they are a danger to themselves or others, the advisor should immediately contact the Care Team, the Dean of Students or the appropriate law enforcement agency. The employee outside of those rights contained within FERPA should create no impression of client or patient confidentiality.
Required to be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching above the shoulder, reaching below the shoulder, vision near sight, and vision far sight.
