Kari Whitman Interiors is looking for a part-time Architectural Drafter with experience in luxury hotels, restaurants and high-end residential projects to join our team. The ideal designer is a creative, self-motivated and meticulous individual.

Some travel to the Los Angeles office and to client sites may be required. The ideal candidate must be passionate about design and drafting, take pride and ownership in their work, possess solid leadership and communication skills, and enjoy a professional yet creative environment. High professional standards and a strong work ethic are a must! Creativity is also a must!

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Masters of Architecture and/or Interior Design

• 3+ years of experience working with commercial and residential architecture and construction documentation creation

• Strong design portfolio
• General knowledge of design, building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
• Familiarity with Auto CAD and Adobe Suite proficiency REQUIRED! Must rate yourself a 10/10 with AutoCAD.

Responsibilities:

• Developing design ideas that align with client's needs and lifestyle
• Performing a mix of design and administrative duties encompassing all phases of interior and architectural design process including planning, designing, and construction oversight
• Assist principal designer/architect in client meetings and project management
• Producing detailed construction documents and making any necessary corrections per building department comments through the permitting process
• Maintaining budgets and timelines
• Ensuring all works meet specific architectural standards, building codes, guidelines, and regulations
• Making site visits, developing project status reports
• Cooperation and communication with construction professionals
• Staying current on design and architectural trends and advancements

Job Type: Part-time- 20hrs per week

Pay: $30-45/hr dependent on experience
