Overview:

This posting is for a Assistant Chief Test Engineer (ACTE) at EB South located in Kings Bay, Ga reporting to the Chief Test Engineer (CTE).

The specific responsibilities will be:

• Supervise and manage the Quality Assurance Program personnel
• Assist the CTE in the management the test program to ensure performance to the required levels of quality while meeting established schedule and cost objectives
• Assist the CTE in the direction and coordination of the performance of assigned testing
• Provide technical assistance and the required training to the personnel assigned to perform testing and quality assurance functions
• Impress upon subordinates the need for quality performance in full compliance with the applicable procedures and instructions
• Maintain stringent controls and coordination of all activities involving reentry and restoration of systems
• Maintain / ensure the Chief Test Engineer is aware of problems relating to successful completion of all testing
• Maintain required paperwork
• Evaluate the performance of personnel and make recommendations for advancement, training or discipline
• Ensure all Electric Boat policies and procedures are adhered to
• Review and report manpower needs as required to meet schedules

Candidate should possess demonstrated skills of interpersonal competence facilitating effective relationships between internal / external customers. Team interaction and communication are important soft-skills. Must be capable of taking effective disciplinary action in accordance with company policy and procedures and confer with Human Resources concerning employee problems and manner of resolution

This position is located at the St Marys, GA and Kings Bay, Ga locations.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Shipyard Test experience
• Experience as a Test Supervisor
• High School Diploma /GED
• Applicant must be granted a minimum of an interim secret clearance prior to position commencing
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the Department of Defense

Preferred:

• Post High School education highly desirable
• Naval experience strongly desired
• Previous experience as an Test Supervisor
• Experience with the Navy Tagout system, EB Shipboard Tagout System or EB Non-shipboard Lockout/Tagout system is highly desired
