General Summary of Job Duties: Silverton Casino LLC is currently seeking an Assistant Controller to help guide financial reporting for our expanding array of business enterprises. The position will oversee day-to-day and month-end accounting processes for our Shared Services department and assist in Silverton operations as necessary. The Shared Services department is responsible for the timely compilation of financial information leading to the accurate preparation of financial statements for all business units under the Silverton Management umbrella. The position will report to the Director of Finance – Shared Services and will be hands on with a strong working knowledge of intercompany general ledger accounting, financial practices, and Shared Services.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform all functions in accordance with applicable GAAP, Gaming Control Board, Federal and other laws and gaming regulations and Silverton policies and procedures.
- Oversee Shared Service accounting, accounts payable and receivable as well as payroll processing.
- Assist with and supervising the direct month-end close (journal entries, account reconciliations, etc.) with the Shared Services Staff Accountant
- Plan and monitor the accounting department’s balance sheet account reconciliation process and fixed asset recording and reconciliation monthly.
- Prepare and maintain monthly intercompany schedules that summarize debt activity including debt roll-forward, deferred financing costs roll-forward, interest accrual, interest expenses, etc.
- Assist Accounting management as needed to complete ad-hoc projects, month-end, and year-end reports across all Silverton managed business units.
- Assist in the coordination of and preparation for financial audits as required.
- Assist in the creation of budget reports and in preparation of annual budgets.
- Adhere to all appearance and uniform standards.

Skills, Education & Other Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Accredited College or University.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Minimum of five (5) years general ledger or experience in gaming/hospitality environment, or large regional CPA accounting firm.
- Familiarity with Shared Service general accounting processes.
- Minimum of five (5) years staff supervision in Shared Services preferred.
- Excellent strategic, analytical, and creative thinking aptitude in both an independent and team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well within a team under tight deadlines and changing directives.
- Minimum 21 years old and can obtain an appropriate gaming license if applicable.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently, be well organized, and perform in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Technical Skills:
- Previous experience with Infinium or related accounting system preferable.
- Microsoft Office proficiency. (Excel including Pivot Tables)
- Oracle POS PMS.
