Job description
Manage all human resources functions and services at Northlake. Develop and manage employment programs, salary compensation and job evaluations, talent acquisition, benefits, promotions, equal opportunity initiatives, education and training programs and union compliance. Manage the employee housing department and the recreation program. Administrative and functional direct supervision of up to 6 staff members at peak season.
General Duties: Oversee the full scope of human resources, housing and employee services department. Directs staff in the areas of: organizational structure, employment, compensation, employee database maintenance, payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, orientation/training/development, and policy/procedure development. Oversee development and monitoring of the human resources division budget.
Specific Duties:
- Create the company recruitment and selection plan. Conducts interviews, job postings and employee offers.
- Partner with recruitment agencies, local organizations, educational institutions, etc.
- Guide managers and other employees in matters related to career development, staffing initiatives, employee relations, workplace ethics and performance management.
- Design and implement company development and training programs for operations, service, orientation, etc.
- Work with HRD, Southlake HRM to create company training and organizational development plan to meet personal, professional and organizational needs of all company employees.
- Work with department managers to support short and long term employee goals
- Act as a liaison between management and employees.
- Oversee the orientation programs for employee motivation in order to direct them towards the organizational goals.
- Collect HR metrics, analyze, collate and report the data and identify trends.
- Plan and coordinate central human resources activities related to seasonal hiring, layoffs and pay rate changes.
- Oversee specific human resources functions including personnel records processing, job applicant interviewing, and so forth. Investigate and report industrial accidents and manage workers compensation claims.
- Conduct exit interviews during employee terminations and resignations.
- Develop and maintain tracking and accountability system for performance of all HR programs (i.e. meetings, orientation, training, etc.)
- Manage and administer rewards and recognition program.
- Design, develop and administer special projects.
- Administer company equal opportunity programs
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or other appropriate field, plus three to five years of relevant human resources and general administrative/supervisory experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
- PHR certification preferred. .
- Good general knowledge of various human resources management functions, with in-depth knowledge and skills in one or more human resource functions directly related to the position.
- Good basic interviewing skills.
- Excellent presentation and speaking skills.
- Research and analytical skills. Planning, administrative and supervisory skills.
- Excellent understanding of computerized information systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of company personnel, job applicants, outside firms and government agencies.
