Assistant Kitchen Manager – Closing Shift

BB’s Tex-Orleans is hiring for an assistant kitchen manager to work evening shifts. This position can lead to a salaried position with the company. The night assistant kitchen manager will lead all aspects of our back of house staff and deliver excellent food, while supporting and leading the kitchen staff on evening shifts.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need management skills and experience in a full-service kitchen. You must be available to work from 3:00pm to Midnight._ (Out times fluctuate)_Full-service kitchen manager experience is essential, as you’ll work with and lead cooks, dish, prep, and expo positions as well as set work schedules, oversee food prep and make sure we comply with health and safety restaurant regulations.

We’ll expect you to lead by example and uplift our staff during busy moments in our fast-paced kitchen. Ultimately, you will ensure the restaurant kitchen and staff are organized, prompt with ticket orders, efficient with labor, and preparing high quality dishes. You will be responsible for night shift operations and overseeing the closing shifts, a minimum of 5 nights a week, including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Weekends are essential; however, we are fair with requested time off.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate nightly Back of the House restaurant operations
  • Deliver superior leadership and maximize kitchen efficiency
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to kitchen issues and challenges
  • Regularly review product quality
  • Organize and supervise the kitchen night shifts
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations

Job Requirements

  • Applicant must be available to work evenings, 5 nights a week.
  • Proven work experience as a manager leading a high volume, full-service kitchen.
  • You must be willing and able to work closely with the Kitchen Manager and General Manager
  • Cajun food experience is a huge plus
  • This not a "second job" position. Shifts start at around 3:00pm to after midnight. Cannot leave the shift early or arrive late.

Salary: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour (will negotiate based on experience)
