Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Working closely with the US Senior Brand Manager, the Assistant Brand Manager will manage
retail and brand marketing efforts for both strategic and green grass accounts in the US, while providing marketing support that ensures the adidas brand image meets guidelines and objectives. Develops, coordinates and executes branded communication materials for product launch activation, retail training & education, consumer events/experiences for account-specific initiatives, and supports the day-to-day execution of all marketing strategies and deliverables. The Assistant Marketing Manager will also help develop an integrated, go-to-market strategy to support adidas objectives for the US market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as marketing liaison between US marketing team and sales team/accounts for both strategic and green grass channels, facilitating opportunity recognition, solution implementation, communication processes and problem solving as needed.
  • Make go-forward recommendations for the brand and retail marketing teams in the development and execution of consumer-facing marketing programs to be implemented across retail channels.
  • Develop specific POS, fixtures and launch displays to fit the needs for the strategic and green grass accounts.
  • Partner with fulfillment and logistics providers to ensure proper set-up, rollout and tracking of marketing materials.
  • Manage and maintain consistent messaging and identity of all account-specific marketing materials.
  • Manage and reconcile cooperative marketing budgets for all strategic and green grass customers.
  • Actively build positive relationships with strategic and green grass account stakeholders including buyers, visual merchandisers, store managers and marketing teams.
  • Be integrally involved in US Marketing initiatives, systems planning, event execution, production of collateral procedures, promotional budgets.
  • With a focus on our DPC (Digital Partner Commerce), source, manage, and audit the execution of adidas images and digital content with Digital Partners.
  • Inform, recommend, and update the execution of adidas product content to ensure SEO best practices are met.

Key Relationships:

  • Serve as marketing liaison between US marketing team and sales team/accounts for both strategic and green grass channels
  • Coordinate retail training & product education experiences for green grass sales representatives
  • Partner with Product Marketing (footwear, apparel) and Sales to maintain up-to-date knowledge of product portfolio, account assortment plans, distribution strategies and sell-thru.
  • In alignment with Global DPC Strategy, support wholesale DPC in an effort to achieve commercial targets while ensuring strong customer service, brand representation, and operational excellence.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of account relationships and business transactions.
  • Understanding of brand management and how all facets of the marketing mix can affect consumer motivation, product needs and the retail experience.
  • Ability to identify in-market opportunities and develop an execution plan.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Highly developed attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work across teams and manage priorities to accomplish multiple tasks.
  • Passion for golf required, with strong knowledge of golf soft goods, hard goods and general sports preferred.
  • Experience in social and/or brand marketing that included digital responsibilities and/or ecom.
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook)
  • Travel to accounts is required: estimated at 25%
