Primary Purpose
The Associate HR Business Partner will be part of a diverse and inclusive team responsible for leading the development and execution of key organizational strategies, processes, and solutions. The Associate HRBP position serves as a consultant to the Operations Division on HR-related matters. The role also serves as a project manager to accomplish Norfolk Southern's strategic objectives.
Principal Duties:
- Consults and provides HR guidance to department leadership on performance management, succession planning, employee relations, talent management, and diversity, equity, & inclusion initiatives.
- Leads and supports cross-functional projects to meet HR objectives.
- Identifies and researches potential risks associated with organizational changes and work with the Law department to mitigate/manage these risks.
- Resolves HR related issues, researches and provides interpretation of HR policies, and develops and presents HR briefings.
- Accurately prepares and reports metrics to HR senior management and department leadership while ensuring data integrity.
- Partners with Talent Acquisition to identify top internal talent for management positions across the organization.
- Identifies innovative solutions to maximize organizational design, execute change management initiatives, increase employee engagement, and drive progress on business priorities.
