Job description
JOBAssists with various programs and events including youth and adult programming, tournaments / games, and camps. Supervises children enrolled in the afterschool program to ensure their safety and security. Work is performed under general supervision with limited latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Position exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. **** Part-time position that occasionally requires some nights and weekends. Position is scheduled to work a 20-hour week, Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM; with occasional special events on Saturdays or Sundays. ****

Ensures the safety and security of all children enrolled in recreation center programs Serves as a positive role model and mentor for children enrolled in recreation center programsCommunicates with parents in a positive manner Takes and records attendance Maintains facilities in a clean and safe state; performs janitorial services as required including mopping, sweeping, restroom cleaning / sanitizing, and removing trashArranges chairs, tables, and / or equipment in designated areas for scheduled activitiesReceives, stores, inspects, organizes, and issues equipment and suppliesTakes children from classrooms to activities and the parent pick-up area in a calm and orderly mannerParticipates in sports activities with children including basketball, football, volleyball, and soccerAssists children in the afterschool program with their homeworkAssists with the supervision of campers during camp program activities Assists program participants with daily tasks as neededProvides first aid assistance to program participants in cases of minor injuries; reports accidents and incidents to the appropriate parties as soon as possible after the occurrencePerforms other duties as required or as assigned
