Job description

As an Automotive BDC Manager, your main responsibility is to oversee the Business Development Center (BDC) of an automotive dealership. The BDC is the department responsible for managing leads and customer inquiries through various communication channels such as phone, email, and chat.

To excel in this role, you should have a deep understanding of the automotive industry and be able to manage a team of BDC representatives. You must be able to motivate and coach them to ensure that they are meeting their targets and providing excellent customer service.

As an Automotive BDC Manager, your daily tasks may include:

  • Managing and monitoring the BDC team's performance, including lead conversion rates, call volume, and response times.
  • Developing and implementing BDC training programs to improve performance and customer service.
  • Creating and analyzing reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensuring that all BDC representatives follow up with customers promptly and professionally.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with customers and vendors to promote business growth.
  • Coordinating with other departments in the dealership, such as sales and service, to ensure that customer inquiries are handled efficiently.
  • Managing the BDC budget, including staff salaries, training expenses, and technology investments.

To be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You should also be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work well under pressure. A strong background in customer service and sales is essential, as well as experience managing a team. Knowledge of CRM software and other technology used in the automotive industry is also valuable.
