This position is responsible for the daily operation, educational integrity and procedural compliance of the Aviation Maintenance Program.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Serve as the liaison between the Aviation Maintenance Technician Program and the Campus Director of Education and/or Campus Executive Director.
  • Serve as an Instructor when class size, or instructor absence, necessitates.
  • Audit all Aviation Maintenance Technician Program curricula to ensure that instructors are using the most current syllabi, lesson plans, and textbooks as indicated on the intranet site.
  • Ensure that the Aviation Maintenance Technician Program operates in compliance with the regulatory agencies governing our schools.
  • Provide academic advising services to Aviation Maintenance Technician Program students. Aviation Maintenance Program Coordinator
  • Conduct formal classroom and shop observations, and report to the Campus Director of Education and/or Campus Executive Director.
  • Conduct Student Evaluation of Instruction surveys and submit results to the Campus Director of Education and/or Campus Executive Director.
  • Conduct Faculty Meetings as directed by the Director of Education. Submit minutes from each meeting held.
  • Take an active role in the interview process for new instructors
  • Assist the Campus Director of Education and/or Campus Executive Director in the creation, monitoring, and updating of Faculty Personnel Report (FPR) for each Aviation Maintenance Technology Instructor.
  • Assist the Campus Director of Education and/or Campus Executive Director in the creation, monitoring, and updating of Staff Personnel Report (SPR) for each Aviation Maintenance Technician instructional team member.
  • Ensure supplies and materials are purchased, and in place for required class projects.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other workplace safety regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor student performance on required projects to ensure proper completion and compliance with the Aviation Maintenance Technician Curriculum. Report any deficiencies to the Instructor and to the Campus Director of Education and/or Campus Executive Director
  • Work with the Director of Education to design and fabricate training aids that will help meet the requirements of the Aviation Maintenance Technician Curriculum.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Director of Education and/or Campus Executive Director.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • An educational background equal to or exceeding the maximum credential offered by the school. An exception may be made with the approval of the Regional Director and HR Director.
  • At least three years hands-on experience in Aviation Maintenance repair and installation.
  • At least three years teaching experience, with a minimum of one year at an AIM Campus is preferred.
  • Appropriate educational administration experience and competence necessary to lead and manage the school’s instructional program(s). Aviation Maintenance Program Coordinator
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • FCC, General Radiotelephone Operators License preferred
  • NCATT, AET Certification preferred
  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant Ratings.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
