SCC is seeking an IT Augmented Virtual Reality Instructor (Full-time: fall/spring/summer - 204 day contract)
Under the direction of the Dean of Instruction this position will be responsible for:
Under the direction of the Dean of Instruction this position will be responsible for teaching courses and assessing learning outcomes in the IT Augmented Virtual Reality Program. Some of the topics to be taught include 3D modeling, digital animation, C# programming, and game engine development. The successful candidate must have the ability to prepare and teach courses using appropriate software and a variety of programming languages. Teaching assignments may include evening courses and multiple sites using face-to-face, Zoom, and online delivery modalities. Must demonstrate excellence in teaching and service. Must demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of the community college.
Qualifications will include:
· Possess a combination of education, training, and at least 3 years of relevant experience in Augmented and Virtual Reality, Game Design, Digital Animation, Immersive Media Design, 3D Modeling, Digital Storytelling or some other related AVR field.
- Degree and/or certification in AVR, Game Design, Digital Animation, Immersive Media Design, or Programming with AVR coursework is preferred.
- The ability to teach courses in Augmented and Virtual Reality and some classes in the Programming Department such as C# is needed.
· Experience teaching at a community college is preferred.
· Must have the ability to work with a diverse student population, staff, and external constituents.
- Must maintain a commitment to providing quality service that meets or exceeds the expectations of internal and external customers.
· Must possess the attitude, knowledge, skills, and motivation necessary to create an effective learning environment.
· Successful candidate must possess exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
