Bartender/Server - Per Diem

We are seeking a Per Diem Bartender/Server at John Knox Village to provide a welcoming and memorable experience to all guests utilizing our catering department. John Knox Village is a not-for-profit Life Care Retirement Community offering a full range of independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care options for more than 1,000 senior residents on our 70-acre campus.

Your Job Will Include

• Bar area is set up properly and ready for service upon opening
  • Temperature checked/recorded for all reach in coolers
  • Inventory checked-all liquor, beer and wine available/restocked
  • Bar fruit garnishes prepared
  • Mixers/juices prepared
  • Speed rail set up
  • Soft drinks available
  • Straws, napkins, coasters, plastic cups restocked
  • Ice bin filled
  • Equipment ready, blender, shot glasses, jiggers, spoons, mixing glasses, etc.
  • Trash cans lined and ready
  • Wipe down bar countertop, tables, chairs
  • Check that TV's and/or music on set at appropriate channels/comfortable levels
  • Check POS/Credit Card system for readiness, thermal paper, etc.
  • Cash drawer ready-TBD
• Responsible alcohol service policies followed
• Verify identification and age requirements of customers
• Mix traditional and creative cocktails following proper recipes/portion controls
• Ensures proper wine service etiquette
• Process payment from customers
• Clean glasses and bar utensils throughout the shift
• Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences
• Open and maintain tabs throughout the shift
• Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive, inviting atmosphere
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in Florida
• Knowledge of mixology for traditional and creative cocktails
• Understanding of unique and complementary flavor pairings
• Impeccable customer service and social perceptiveness
• Ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and responsiveness
• Ability to enforce company policies regarding the consumption of alcohol
• Accountability in maintaining inventory and processing payments
• Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by Management

Who We Are Looking For

• High School degree or equivalent.
• 2+ years bartending experience in upscale/casual restaurants/hotels/resorts
• ServSafe certified.
• Responsible Alcohol Service certified or equivalent, ServSafe Alcohol preferred
