Job Summary

Our insurance agency is expanding and is looking for a highly motivated Agent to join our team. If you’re a talented and sales-minded professional with a passion for the insurance industry, then we’re interested in you. As an agent on our team your main role will be maintain current clients and to generate new business by contacting potential customers and building lasting relationships.

This role will require an experienced agent as we’re looking for a qualified agent to maintain a current book of business as well as continuously growing by acquiring new clients. This role has the flexibility to be a W-2 or 1099 position with unlimited income potential.

Insurance Agent Job Responsibilities:

  • Meet with clients to determine specific insurance needs. Based on their need, you’ll research and provide recommendations to their insurance needs by selling health, vision, dental, life and disability insurances. As an independent agency, you will have access to all carriers offering benefits in our service area.
  • Maintain productive working relationship with clients by connecting with clients on a regular basis providing information about policies, and answering questions related to coverage and premiums. This role will service both group and individual clients.
  • Self-generate sales leads from various engagement initiatives via professional organizations, networking events and cold calling.
  • Continuously educate yourself on the industry and learn about new products and services.
  • Maintaining a great working relationship and support to your assigned Account Manager. Your Account Manager works directly with the employees of your groups to provide excellent customer service.

Insurance Agent Qualifications/Skills:

  • Prospecting skills via referrals, cold calling and more
  • Motivation for sales and proven ability to meet sales goals
  • Willingness to expand product knowledge
  • Organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present to small and large groups

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma required and preferred BA in finance, business, economics, or a related field is preferred
  • State license that is in good standing with the State of Michigan
  • Continuing education credits

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Contract type:

  • Permanent
