We Are Hiring:
BH Tech - Behavioral Health Technician
  • Department: Psychiatric Nursing Unit
  • Schedule: Full time, 36 hr/wk - Night Shift -
    7p-730A , every other weekend and alternating holidays
  • Hospital: Ascension Macomb
  • Location: Warren, MI
What You Will Do:
Provide direct behavioral health patient care.
  • Assist patients with performing activities of daily living.
  • Provide or assist with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
  • Observe and record patient behavior and activities.
  • Report any changes in condition and suggest modifications to the treatment plan.
  • Establish a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients.
What You Will Need:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention preferred.
  • Nurse Aide credentialed from the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry preferred.
Education:
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences:

Previous Behavioral Health / Mental Health Technician (inpatient or community mental health) experience preferred.

Previous hospital/acute care setting experience preferred.

  • Associate degree with work experience in mental health preferred
  • CPI training preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field.
  • Will consider hiring MHT with mental health experience.
