POSITION INFORMATION:

The Billing & Collections Specialist (“BCS”) provides accounting practice support and will be responsible for managing the A/R and processing insurance claims in a timely and accurate manner to ensure excellent patient relationship and financial success for the practice. Serves as a backup by providing coverage for the Patient Services department and acts as a resource for other business partners.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage weekly aging reports to ensure all claims are paid properly
• Review EOB’s and determining appropriate billing distributions to patient accounts
• Post insurance payments received to patient’s accounts accurately on a daily basis
• Scan and upload all insurance EOBs associated to claims submission into the patient’s account
• Follow-up on outstanding or pending claims to ensure payment
• Communicate effectively with various insurance companies to verify and resolve any discrepancies
• Review delinquent accounts and collect past due balances requiring appropriate correspondence
• Provide timely response to all email and phone queries related to claims/billing
• Provide weekly status update to the Sr. Billing and Collections Specialist
• Serves as a liaison between insurance carriers, staff and patients to resolve any concerns and maintain a positive working relationship
• Adheres to company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance and Code of Conduct.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• 2-3 years of similar job experience.
• Demonstrate ability to assume Patient Services Representative’s essential responsibilities.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrate knowledge of effective scheduling.
• Comply with protocols and standards.
• Demonstrate and promote superior customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Exercise basic knowledge of dental terminology.
• Support corporate vision and strategy.

Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
