POSITION TITLE:BMM Core Up
DEPARTMENT:Side Floor Molding
POSITION NUMBER:4232
REPORTS TO:Side Floor Molding Supervisor
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To set core in drags as they are made available and instruct Cope Crane Operator when cores are required in cope.
- Follow instructions as written on Prim Card.
- Inspect cores before using.
- Inspect for problems such as; soft ram, pulling stickers when drawing pattern and damaged mold from bad place on pattern.
- Responsible for checking all patterns for right numbers, heat numbers, damaged patterns and any procedures on work slip for making and coring up of any mold.
- Check that all cores are put in mold properly.
- Make sure cores do not crush or shave sand in core prints.
- Help close and clamp mold and help move to set-off area.
- Set chaplets when required.
- Maintain adequate supplies needed to core up and close finished molds.
- Identify metal type and pour weight on molds.
- Consult with supervisor on unsure issues prior to closing mold.
- Communicate with Cope Crane Operator when necessary.
JOB KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Must be able to communicate effectively with others in the department.
- Must be able to lift 60 lbs on a continuous basis.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Foundry Environment.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Exposure to high noise levels.
- Exposure to dirt and fumes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
-1 - 3 Years previous experience preferred.
