Job description

We are a National Optical Wholesaler based in Oneonta, NY, seeking an experienced, detail-oriented individual to join our team. Position is 37.5 hours per week. Monday – Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm at our Oneonta office.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Applying daily customer payments via check and credit card
  • Performing audits to ensure that batches, payments, and charges are in balance.
  • Preparing and coordinating deposit
  • Entry and documentation of journal entries
  • Month end closing and statement processes
  • Preparing communications, such as emails, invoices, statements, reports, and letters
  • Maintaining and updating databases and Excel spreadsheets
  • Answering customer questions, supplying information, and addressing complaints via email or phone

Requirements:

  • 1+ years bookkeeping or accounts receivable experience
  • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to deal with confidential information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
