Position Summary:

Our company is a leading player in the action sports industry, and we are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for opening new premium distribution channels and working cross functionally to guide development of the brand that charters new territories. This role will be responsible for driving sales growth and brand awareness through new business development.

Essential Functions: The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop new business by cold-calling, building relationships and nurturing those relationships for the sell-in of Fox distribution for long-term.
  • Incubate the new business with consumer pull programs and marketing activations to ensure you are setting the business up for success.
  • Work cross-functionally to create effective proposals and strategies to set the brand and customer up for great success. Assess client needs and the company’s ability to meet those needs.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth.
  • Continually Identify and evaluate potential new business opportunities and strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the customer organizations to ensure you are setting the business up for success – merchandising, buyers, marketing, store managers, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement product development plans.
  • Key liaison in development and implementation of the strategic plan for select accounts. Includes digital business development, product merchandising, revenue forecast, contract negotiation, performance tracking, MAP enforcement, and go to market strategy.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Analyze sales data and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Meet and exceed new business/door targets.
  • Drive marketing campaigns and initiatives through collaboration with Fox and Account marketing teams.
  • Keep account appraised of Fox inventory position, product launch schedules, and line changes.
  • Ongoing communication to customers/buyers to ensure they have appropriate levels of inventory and product performance.
  • Work with customers to provide monthly product sell-through data and market trends.
  • Establish joint-scorecards with the customers to ensure key milestones in the development journey are met.

  • Proven track record of successfully developing new business and increasing sales revenue.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Passion for the apparel industry and staying up-to-date with the latest trends.
  • Has worked with premium department stores, online retailers and has relationships in the apparel industry.
  • Goal-oriented, articulate, motivated, able to multi-task, and possess a desire to learn.
  • Must have ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong business acumen, excellent organization and presentation skills required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Work Environment:

  • This job operates within your home office and Fox corporate Irvine, CA office
  • This job will work closely with the Fox merchandising team in Irvine, CA and will require a significant amount of time in Irvine.

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting long periods of time
  • Significant manual dexterity for keying in data for long periods of time
  • The ability to lift 25-30 pounds regularly.

Expected Hours of Work:

  • 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday
  • Availability: 6AM – 6PM

Travel:

  • 30% depending on season.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in new business development in the apparel industry is required. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience within the category or general knowledge of Action Sports, and emerging digital industry is preferred. Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
