Job description – Resale Fashion Merchandise Specialist/Buyer

We pride ourselves in offering everyone an alternative to “fast fashion” through our retail stores in the Greater Philadelphia area.

The Merchandise Specialist/Buyer role is responsible for screening, pricing and entering the inventory of all goods that are consigned at our stores by the public, including clothing, shoes, jewelry, handbags, and other accessories – and will require communication with both staff and customers. This position may be offered as full-time or part-time, and has tremendous potential for growth.

Greene Street has a great Center City Philadelphia location as a base of operations, but travel/work at our stores is often required. Training will be in Philadelphia.

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Knowledge of clothing; including labels, fashion and fabric terminology, and current trends.

• High level of computer literacy (Windows, Excel), typing proficiency and spelling accuracy, troubleshooting ability.

• Meticulous eye for detail and impeccable standards when reviewing garments.

• Excellent time management and ability to prioritize and multitask.

• Friendly and professional demeanor and excellent communication skills with customers and coworkers.
• Understanding of current retail trends and resale pricing is a plus.
• A willingness to learn!

Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

• Communicate with the store manager on stock levels, needs and issues.

• Assist in keeping the store clean and organized.

• Filling in on sales floor as needed, and/or opening and closing the store as acting Keyholder as needed.

• Assisting with loss prevention, including employee bag checks and monitoring fitting rooms as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
