Summary
The CAD Drafter position will be responsible for generating product documentation for new and modified products such as component and assembly drawings and work instructions. Along with other responsibilities, this position will also review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborates with design owners to recommend design enhancements including dimensioning schemes and manufacturability
- Complete documentation package (drawing, Work instructions, ERP data) associated with ECR's (Engineering Change Request), ECN's (Engineering Change Notice) and ECO's (Engineering Change Order)
- Responsible for mentoring CAD Drafter I and support of production associates
Representative Decisions
- Drawing and documentation format configurations for parts and assemblies within guidelines provided by Engineer
Expected Outcomes
- Complete and accurate drawings, documentation and Bill of Materials (BOM's)
- Consistently meet deadlines and objectives according to internal and external standards
- Optimized design and documentation package
- New and junior drafters are onboarded quickly and effectively

Education and Experience Requirements
- 2-year degree in technical discipline or certification
- 5 years required experience
- Creates detail and assembly drawings from solid models or concepts
- Creates process sheets and work instructions to support manufacturing cell
- Use of computer-aided design tools
- Understanding and apply current GD&T industry standard principles
- Advanced tolerance analysis of complex systems and assemblies
- Processing of engineering change notices, including documentation updates and modifications to the ERP system
