REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
PART-TIME: Winter Seasonal (Dec-May), hours are flexible
HOURLY: $15.50+, depending on experience

Position Summary

Tahoe Cross-Country (Tahoe XC) is a public benefit corporation that manages the Tahoe XC Lodge and Trailhead for year-round, public access. In winter, Tahoe XC produces world-class grooming for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The Cafe Associate position works primarily in the Free Heel Cafe at Tahoe Cross-Country Ski Area in Tahoe City, CA. Responsibilities include greeting customers, answering questions, creating and maintaining a vibrant, customer-focused environment, preparing cafe food and beverages to order, and keeping overall order and cleanliness of the cafe. You will also be accountable for processing payments as related to the cafe, and assisting with overall ski lodge operations and maintenance when the cafe is not active with customers. Additional responsibilities include cleaning, stocking, organizing. To be a great fit for this role, applicants should have experience in a fast-paced customer service role. This position is a part-time seasonal role, with start and end dates ranging from November to May.

Essential Duties

• Responsible for cafe customer service
  
• Deliver excellent customer service through communication, positive attitude, and connecting with customers
  
• Prepare food and beverage orders
  
• Use POS system for purchases and handle money
  
• Maintain workplace cleanliness throughout shift
  
• Follow health and safety standards
  
• Work with staff and instructors to ensure maximum productivity
  
• Ability to learn and speak to overall trail conditions - ski trails, snow conditions, general lodge operations and winter recreation and safety

Demonstrate ability to:

• Maintain a high energy level in a face paced environment
  
• Must possess a basic knowledge of accounting and mathematics
  
• Must have safe food handlers card
  
• Be able to stand for a long period of time and lift up to 25 pounds
