4) Be a Sales Support: Assist community growth through direct interaction and work with Sales to assess resident needs and assist families with the senior living options that suit their needs.
Duties
This position description is designated to outline primary duties, qualifications, and job scope, but not limit the individual or the organization to just the work identified. It is our expectation that each employee will offer his/her services wherever and whenever necessary to ensure the success of our endeavors.
- Present a professional demeanor that communicates a corporate philosophy of service, goodwill, and genuine interest, dignity, and respect for each resident’s needs.
- Serve as main point of contact for care needs of assisted living community.
- Assist in the oversight of assisted living care staff in collaboration with Wellness Director.
- Responsible for assisted living care staff schedule and Paylocity.
- Work the floor as a Care Partner or Medication Partner on an as-needed basis to fill open shifts, support caregivers, and ensure residents receive proper and timely assistance with all care needs.
- Assist in scheduling medical appointments and maintaining a current medical appointment calendar.
- Collaborate with Wellness Director in completing care sections of service plans for new move-ins, six-month evaluations, and changes in condition assessments.
- Participate in staff onboarding, training, and skills validation.
- Audit and maintain resident and community supplies for assisted living community
- Ensure outstanding and appropriate care is delivered while adhering to community guidelines, regulation, and law.
- Direct day-to-day operations of the department in a manner that ensures the health, safety and satisfaction of residents and employees and promotes and advances the business interests of the Community.
- Maintain open communication with employees and residents to ensure a quality environment, as well as to develop personal knowledge of both residents and staff.
- Foster a strong, cohesive team environment that builds confidence and strong morale among staff and high resident retention and satisfaction.
- Be present in the community during normal business hours, and at a minimum, the number of hours required to ensure that the community is operated efficiently and in compliance with all current laws and state regulations.
- Manage, in conjunction with the Business Office Director, employee status changes, including pay and title changes, insurance and benefits management, worker’s compensation, and on-the-job injuries.
- Accurately document all personnel-related matters and provide feedback and insight for employee performance evaluations.
- Ensure that all caregivers fulfill their assignments and job descriptions in a professional and timely manner, and are on time, courteous, and present a clean and professional appearance and demeanor.
- Approve, monitor, and submit for payment all expenditures relating to the Community.
- Monitor costs and revenues and meet or exceed budget guidelines.
- Familiarize yourself with residents of the Community.
- When appropriate, coordinate and participate in care planning and other meetings, both formal and informal.
- Collaborate with community Resident Services Director to assist in planning and supervising daily activity schedules in assisted living to maximize interaction with residents.
- Participate in resident orientations by explaining amenities, routines, and expectations of the Community and your department.
- Cooperate and interact with Resident Council.
- Monitor emergency call system and respond via set protocol.
- Review daily and 24-hour communication logs maintained by front desk.
- Maintain “On-Call” status for emergency and/or crisis situations for assisted living residents and staff.
- Perform accurate and timely charting of resident notes, including departmental forms, physician orders, and any documentation needs regarding resident care.
- Respond to medical emergencies.
- Qualify prospective residents physically, socially, emotionally, and economically according to company policy and the criteria set forth by state and federal requirements.
- Work with Wellness and third-party agencies to identify and ensure that all potential services are provided for each resident to meet physical, social, and emotional criteria.
- Participate in the daily stand-up meeting and one-on-one meetings.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with physician.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Serve as champion for Foresight, Mediprocity, and/or Virtusense, ensuring proper functioning and use, including reporting and submission.
Requirements
- Be at least (21) years of age.
- Be a licensed Med Tech or be enrolled in the Med Tech class within 90 days of hire.
- Be available to work a Monday-Friday schedule, with 24/7 on-call responsibilities, in addition to being available during weekends, holidays, and after hours, and share on-call rotation with the community Wellness Director.
- Have at least three (3) years of experience providing residential care to the elderly; or equivalent education and experience as approved by licensing agency.
- Ability to maintain or supervise the maintenance of financial and other records.
- Ability to direct the work of others and to provide the necessary leadership for measurable growth and satisfaction in performing the work.
- Experience in hands-on care of memory-impaired residents.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of current medication regulation and law.
- Possess clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Be able to follow written and verbal directions and apply practical problem-solving skills if needed.
- Be of good character and a have a continuing reputation of personal integrity.
- Have a positive and energetic attitude.
- Be professional in appearance and conduct.
- Be criminally cleared.
- Be in good health, and physically mental and capable of performing assigned tasks. Good physical health shall be verified by a health screening performed by a physician not more than (6) months prior to or (7) days after employment.
- Demonstrate freedom from pulmonary tuberculosis within (7) days of employment.
- Must be criminally cleared by DOJ and FBI prior to the initial presence in the facility.
- Must have a clean driving record as per the insurance carrier’s policy.
