The Barth, a non-profit providing affordable, safe housing and care for seniors and people with disabilities, has a great opportunity for QMAPs or PCPs to join our team. We will train and pay for you to be a qualified medication administrator if you do not currently have that qualification.

Essential Functions:

  • Clean resident rooms including bathrooms, linens, clothing and equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers per schedule, and maintain daily orderliness in resident living areas and shared areas
  • Responsible for cleaning all common areas inside and outside of the building (e.g. elevators, laundry room, courtyard); this includes sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting
  • Clean and sanitize public bathrooms multiple times each day
  • May perform terminal cleaning procedures when a resident is discharged or transferred and when isolation is discontinued
  • Uses proper chemical dilution for mixing and using cleaning and disinfecting solutions according to prescribed procedures
  • Collect and gather trash in courtyard, common areas and offices
  • Vacuuming, spot treatment and mopping of common area floors
  • Washing inside and outside windows
  • Launder linen from assigned rooms daily
  • Other cleaning tasks assigned by supervisor

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs comfortably
  • Comfortable using and climbing on step stools
  • Certain activities may require repetitive movements including climbing, crawling, crouching, pulling, pushing

Competencies:

  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, including the ability to provide non‐technical assistance in a simple, straightforward manner
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the concerns of residents and a commitment to dealing fairly with all
  • Friendly, professional demeanor, positive disposition, tactful, patience and high ethical character even while dealing with difficult or upset residents
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; attention to detail
  • Basic computer knowledge and typing skills
  • Respect for privacy and ability to maintain confidentiality of resident care information
  • Willingness to be a team player and provide support to all departments as needed with the intent to provide the best care to our residents
  • Bilingual a plus

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Two (2) years prior work experience in janitorial, custodian or housekeeping role preferred
  • Prior working experience with an elderly and/or disabled population a plus

Expected Hours of Work: This role may be full-time or part-time. Shifts are available 24 hours a day, seven (7) days per week. May be called during off hours to respond to emergency or unusual situations.

Pay: Depends on Experience
