POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a driven Carpenter Assistant to assist the Carpentry Team with accurately and efficiently meeting production goals on a daily and weekly basis. This position will be responsible for the set up and take down at all worksites, gaining experience on carpentry processes, and building skillset to move up to a Carpenter Technician. The Carpenter Assistant will play a key role in assisting with safe and accurate installations, helping the team maintain a safe work site, and ensuring projects run smoothly and are completed within the designated timeline. This position reports directly to the Carpenter Technician.

OBJECTIVES

  • Manage all morning equipment set up at worksites (roll up cords, hoses, etc.) and develop a consistent routine
  • Once job has been completed for the day, ensure all tools have been picked up and the job site is clean prior to leaving
  • Drain water from compressor on a daily basis
  • Follow instructions from Carpenter Technician on how to connect tools and pneumatic guns and nailers for carpentry installation
  • Measure and cut materials for installation accurately and efficiently
  • Track all material waste to ensure we are not wasting materials on sites and advise on more efficient waste management processes
  • Assist the Lead Carpenter and Carpenter Technician in achieving daily and weekly production goals
  • Adhere to local building and safety codes and guidelines
  • Assist team to ensure project has been completed timely an in accordance with project completion deadline
  • Create a list of weekly questions (minimum of 3 questions) to present to upper management to gain clear understanding of processes
  • Complete training in CardoneU daily (4 modules)
  • Ensure location services are turned on and clock in and out daily using the Projul app
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Demonstrates knowledge of products being installed and how to install material appropriately
  • Proficiency in understanding carpentry principles and methods
  • Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately
  • Possesses drive and ambition to advance up to a Carpenter Technician within 12-18 months
  • Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade
  • Possesses a desire to learn new skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Successful completion of vocational school, technical college, or apprenticeship program required
  • 1 year of experience and on-the-job training required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains
  • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination
