Angelico La Pizzeria is a family-owned Tenleytown staple with three other locations in Glover Park, Georgia Avenue, and Mount Pleasant. We offer a variety of Italian comfort foods in addition to our diverse menu which includes classic American and Mediterranean meals in a laidback, cafe-style environment.

As cashier your main duties involve being our first point of contact. That means you will handle all interactions and transactions between customers, delivery drivers, and other persons who enter the dining space. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Taking customer orders face-to-face, via tablet, over the phone, or by paper
• Utilizing steps of service and skills in politeness to ensure customer satisfaction
• Maintaining proper inventory stock and storage for items such as beverages, takeout boxes, deserts, etc.
• Familiarizing yourself with the flow of the restaurant and adapting to changing situations

Responsibilities of the job can grow and change as you spend more time working with us.

The ideal candidate will be energetic, focused and a quick learner with a knack for speedy quality service. Cashiers hold an important position, because any mistakes that begin at the cashier's level will echo throughout the rest of service process in the store. Therefore, it is important that the candidate is someone who does not buckle easily under pressure.

That being said, the work environment at Angelico is often relaxed and very friendly. Cashiers positions are traditionally filled by college students, so we are used to being flexible with class schedules and seasonal breaks. We also allow employees to do classwork on the job during slower hours, as we understand school should be a student's first priority.

Cashiers wil work anywhere between 13 to 40 hours a week (2-6 days/wk) depending on availability and experience. The job pays $16.10/hr (DC Minimum Wage) PLUS TIPS.
