Job Description

SUMMARY: Functioning under moderate supervision, the Carrico Imaging Technologist operates imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the Radiologist, or appropriate corresponding Lead Imaging Technologist.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of anatomical positioning and human physiology (as appropriate to modality) required.
  • Knowledge of radiation protection as warranted.
  • The ability to ensure the confidentiality and rights of all patient and departmental documents as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with patients, physicians, health system officials, other health system personnel and the general public is essential.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical concepts in order to select appropriate technical factors.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret physicians’ orders and other written communications methods of the health care team is essential.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS: Current CPR certification required. Current Maryland State Certification is required. National Board Certification including Advanced Certification in CT preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Will work in a clean, well-lighted environment. The job requires pushing and pulling and lifting of equipment weighing in excess of 50 lbs. up to 40% of the time. Requires lifting and positioning of patients weighing up to 400 lbs. with the assistance of other staff members, up to 60% of the time. The position requires walking and standing 75% of the time, and requires carrying of supplies and other items.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the position, the candidate must have an Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two year college or technical school or six (6) months to one (1) year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay: $28.00 - $43.00 per hour
