Summary of Position
With general direction from the Acquisitions/Description/E-Access, Physical Collections, and Facilities Program Leads but with considerable independence support access to information through material description and maintenance. Responsibilities include creating catalog records, supporting bibliographic cataloging projects, and maintaining and moving physical materials across four library locations.
Working closely and collaboratively with colleagues, manage and secure the Library Storage Building (LSB) on Leavitt Lane, including reporting facility-related concerns including HVAC or other system concerns, coordinating access for vendors, contractors for building and equipment maintenance.
This role serves as a driver of the library vehicle(s) and moves physical materials between Dimond and the branch libraries and may be asked to coordinate pickup and delivery of materials off campus too. Role also responsible for library vehicle maintenance in partnership with other vehicle drivers and the UNH garage (complying with insurance regulations and service schedule) is included. Required to keep NH Defensive Driving certification up to date and meet physical demands of the position.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Job specific and preferred:
Current valid driver’s license and the ability to complete defensive driving training.

Ability to lift/push heavy loads (up to 65lbs) regularly or accommodate lifting/pushing multiple lighter loads to allow distribution of weight.

Ability to use vehicle liftgate controls and heavy garage door.

Understanding job specific protocols and policies applied to academic research libraries, particularly remote storage, materials movement, collection maintenance, spatial data collection and basic or advanced cataloging.

Experience using a Library Services Platform (LSP) (Alma experience preferred).
Experience with scanning and/or other digitization technology.
Ability to monitor building security and/or alarm systems.
