What we're looking for
Zeni is looking for a dynamic finance and operations leader. This role will take on traditional CFO duties, as well as drive the strategic vision for the entire FinOps organization.
About You
- You are comfortable with the culture of a startup but also well versed in setting up scalable processes and policies, while remaining nimble and able to course correct when needed.
- You are an inspirational leader, tapping into your experience and expertise to engage a large team of finance and accounting professionals in the US and India.
- You have extensive experience in FP&A, financial modeling, creating quarterly/annual budgets and forecasting.
- You are comfortable presenting to a team of peers on the Executive team and to the Board on a quarterly basis and don’t shy away from hard conversations.
Responsibilities
Zeni’s CFO will be responsible for leading and driving operational success across the internal Finance and client-facing Finance Operations teams, both in the US and India . The CFO is responsible for managing the Head of Finance Operations for both US and India-based customer service teams. The CFO serves a key role in building Zeni culture, motivating the client facing teams and driving financial performance across Finance Operations. The CFO also provides leadership to Zeni’s clients and directs the Head of CFO Advisory. The CFO also provides technical accounting, thought leadership, training, and customer support for the Controller group.
- Create and present financial and tax strategy recommendations to CEO
- Support the financial planning and analysis efforts
- Oversee cash flow, cash management, working capital, and company audits
- Prepare financial statements and reports
- Ensure legal compliance on all financial functions
- Define and refine Finance Operations, driving on-boarding, customer success and service delivery by working collaboratively with the respective key stakeholders.
- Manage team performance and client profitability across Zeni customer base
- Drive CFO Advisory, including: technical accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Work with Zeni development to build Zeni finance platform features and functionality
- Manage all financial functions across Zeni including Finance, Payroll and Tax
- Draft financial policies and develop processes at Zeni which can be leveraged for Zeni’s clients
Requirements/Qualifications
- Executive leadership experience in building and managing up to 20 direct reports, operationalizing strategy and delegating effectively
- Experience scaling SaaS finance operations from $1M to $100M
- 20+ years of experience in accounting, finance and finance operations
- Building trust as a business partner and respected leader in accounting and finance
- Expertise in multiple business models, driving technology adoption and automation
- Big 4 or equivalent experience in an accounting or professional service firm with focus on team building, customer success, and managing multiple customer demands
- Motivating managers to drive organic growth, expand services, drive customer success and building reference customers
- Strategic business acumen and experience driving financial reporting performance across a portfolio of business
- Provide fintech industry expertise through training, writing white papers and creating web content to build market presence and thought leadership
- Ability to build partner and customer relationships through an existing and growing network of start-ups, VC, PE and Banking relationships.
- Knowledge and competence in using best-in-class technology from partner and competitor platforms.
- High performer who leads by example in proactively developing team dynamics, open communication, regular feedback and responsive decision-making
