The role you’ll contribute:

The Charge Entry Specialist works closely with AHMG Administration and all AHMG practices to assist with the charge entry process. Position also works to make sure that patient accounts are processed and billed with no issues.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Participate in the correct capturing and entering of professional charges
  • Participate in collecting patient balances
  • Attend meetings as indicated or requested to work on charging issues
  • Supports/assists all practices to help resolve "front desk" related claim issues.
  • Work with local revenue cycle team to identify denial trends
  • Answer questions and provide support for providers and office staff.
  • Notify Practice Managers of missing slips and open encounters as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED:

  • Exposure and understanding of CPT codes
  • Proficient computer skills

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
  • Knowledge of athenahealth and EPIC

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Grad or Equiv and 1+ years experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least one year of work experience in a hospital or physician practice department
  • Experience with PC based spreadsheets is required.
