Trinity Child Care is looking to hire a someone who loves working with young children (ages 2-10) and guiding them through the daily routine of growing up. Previous child care experience is preferred. This person will work side by side with another teacher to see that the needs of the children are met throughout the day. Teachers will also lead activities and play time to stimulate the child's mental ,emotional, and spiritual development.

JOB DESCRIPTION—CHILDCARE TEACHER

Job responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing lesson plans and daily activities.
  • Provide a loving Christian environment for children to learn and grow.
  • Develop relationships with each child and encourage them with daily activities.
  • Encourage positive peer interaction between children.
  • Maintain a clean and safe, child friendly environment.
  • Willingly assist with bathroom breaks, snacks, meals and nap time, following a routine that provides smooth transitions between activities.
  • Use suitable, age appropriate language in the presence of children.
  • Assist with family issues that may arise with a child, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Be a positive Christian role model for children, parents and staff.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with parents.
  • Follow policies and procedures outlined in the childcare handbook.
  • Maintain necessary record keeping including daily activity sheets, attendance, time cards and medication forms.
  • Maintain a positive, Christian working relationship with other staff members.
  • Update the director regularly on the status of children and parents and notify immediately if any problems or concerns.
  • Maintain current Infant & Child CPR and AED Certificate.

Qualifications:

  • A Christian individual that models and supports the mission of Trinity Lutheran Church and School, “to make Christ known” to children and parents.
  • Has the desire and compassion to work with young children and adults.
  • Professionally prepared in the field of early childhood education. Has successfully completed or is working toward Early Childhood certification or an associate degree in Early Childhood education.
  • Is sensible and mature, with good oral and written communication skills.
  • Will provide names of three references for job capability and personal character.
  • Will submit to a background check.
  • Must be 18 yrs old & completed HS.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour
