Job description

Youth Services is currently seeking a part-time Child Care Worker to join our team. This position will work at our Elm Grove after-school program 5 days a week from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Interact, monitor, facilitate and assist elementary aged-children on an individual and group bases.
• Instructs children in activities designed to promote their social, physical and intellectual growth.
• Instruct and assist children with personal cleanliness, hygiene and self-care.
• Provide snacks and assist with keeping the rooms well maintained and clean.
• Willing to abide by State regulations and have good interpersonal communication skills with a diverse group of people.
• Maintain client files and all required documentation.
• Attain and maintain certification as required. This position does not work when there is no school.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor or Associate degree in child development/social services/education or related field preferred.
• Previous experience with target population required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Good documentation and oral communication skills required.

• Wheeling, WV 26003: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
