AECOM is actively seeking a motivated, team-oriented Civil Engineer II to join our Environment Business Line for immediate employment in the Akron or Cleveland, Ohio office, working on rewarding projects within a diverse culture, and having access to exceptional training and career development opportunities.

Position: Civil Engineering II - Akron or Cleveland

You will work with a diverse team of technical experts to deliver remediation services to our clients in the Power sector market. In this role, you will support the design of various solid waste disposal facilities, earthen dams, stormwater management, and other civil, geotechnical, and remediation projects.

The successful candidate will have a background in civil engineering. Relocation to the Akron area is required for this role, as it is not a remote position.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and development of construction plans and specifications.
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
  • Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
  • Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related engineering field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in civil engineering/design with an emphasis on site remediation, solid waste management, or other large civil projects
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3DUS Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
  • Valid Driver's US license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering with an emphasis on site remediation, solid waste management, or other large civil projects.
  • 3+ years of experience preparing reports, conducting engineering analyses and calculations, overseeing the preparation of engineering design documents such as drawings and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency using AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models, and storm water management design software such as HydroCAD).
  • Experience civil engineering-related projects including storm water, grading, roadway, and pipe networks.
