Zachry is currently accepting applications for a Clerk position supporting the Subcontracts Department.

Position Summary:

The Subcontract Clerk role entails working closely with the Subcontracts Manager to assist in various daily office tasks primarily associate with either insulation and scaffolding work being preformed in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with weekly and monthly reporting, complies past reporting period’s information and prepares tables and charts for reports.
  • Completes special projects and performs other related duties by Subcontracts Construction Management.
  • Type documents, reports and correspondence
  • Will use varies computer programs in receiving and tracking documents and will work with various types of printers in creating hard copies per requests
  • Will receive written, verbal, and electronic requests for documents
  • Complete projects and other duties as assigned



Required Qualifications - Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous professional work experience in a clerical or administrative position
  • Able to work varying hours as required to support construction operations
  • Knowledge of office equipment- phone, fax machine, copy machine, etc…
  • Good interpersonal skills and good phone etiquette
  • Dependable, punctual and excellent attendance
  • High attention to detail
  • Organization and time management
  • Must have good problem-solving abilities
  • Good Reading Comprehension
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with different levels of the organization including our client
  • Ability to work with others – team player including good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors
  • Ability to build effective relationships, field knowledge, great communicator
  • Must be computer literate in these areas (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Outlook experience also preferred, including use of e-mails, group messaging and data collection

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
  • Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
  • At least five years of professional work experience
  • Bilingual

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
  • Will talk and hear to communicate.
  • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls, and tools.
  • May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
  • Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.

Work Environment:

Will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot – cool/cold. Occasional rain. Will work at different elevations. May be required to work in close, confined spaces for a long period of time. Noise levels will be moderate to high.
