Summary of Work:


The Clinical Project Manager, Clinical and Translational Research Unit ( CTRU ) – Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine will support the activities of the Clinical & Translational Research Unit (CTRU) within the Office of Research and Grants (ORG) that are necessary to execute a successful research strategy for the Heritage College. Major responsibilities for this position include:
  • Clinical support of daily CTRU services (i.e., venipuncture and lab processing) for researchers
  • Facilitation of project management and related research services at an expert level while promoting educational activities and maintaining compliance with regulatory bodies
  • Assisting researchers with proposals, manuscripts or connecting with grant related resources;
  • Promoting and fostering the unit research strategic efforts by engaging with stakeholders to facilitate new projects. This position will provide support to projects at all Heritage College campuses (Cleveland, Dublin, and Athens).


Primary Accountabilities:

  • Oversee and provide project management and research support for the CTRU research portfolio. Tasks include, but not limited to: support research administrative needs such as consulting with prospective researchers, assisting with coordinating research meetings; assisting researchers with funding applications, and development of IRB proposals.
  • Provide research services for both qualitative and clinical research studies by leading study activities from study start-up (participant screening, enrollment, study communication, etc.) through study close-out/record destruction.
  • Monitors compliance throughout all study activities; engages compliance oversight as needed; maintains all licensure, certification, and system education requirements for role; coordinates educational activities related to study needs for study staff, investigator team and patient care staff; Initiates departmental policy and quality projects.
  • Serve as resource for facilitating grants, contracts, and financial tasks for research projects. Assist researchers in study budgeting for supplies and other study needs. Assist researchers with proposals, manuscripts or connecting with grant related resources.
  • Foster the growth and development of research initiatives with the CTRU. Engage and support Heritage College faculty, University centers and institutes to bring new projects to the CTRU. Support the mission and values of the Heritage College as well as promote the research strategic plan by following established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • Other duties including but not limited to: Participate in Business Continuity Planning activities for the CTRU. Participate in regular research team meetings and ORG or CTRU team meetings to discuss current activities or planning activities. Attend assigned training and maintaining proficiency with required technologies and procedures. Requires travel to promote CTRU activities or sponsor study training meetings. Provide training or presentations to university, community, or other groups.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related field
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience
  • Phlebotomy certificate or equivalent (i.e. LPN, RN) is necessary to complete the clinical responsibilities for this position.
  • Completion of the required research compliance training within the first 90 days of hire (if not completed prior).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in conducting or being part of a research team, management of research projects, and other aspects of clinical research is highly desirable.
  • BSN preferred
