Main OR Tech Support 20 JOB SUMMARY
Assists the clinical team in preparing the OR room for each case by removing all dirty linen, trash, used suctions canisters, sanitizing the OR bed, removing case carts and sanitizing the OR floor. Delivers used surgical instruments to the decontamination area for sterile processing. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Responds to emergency calls or requests for cleaning services. • Assists in preparing the room for procedures by the cleaning and sterilization process. • Transports used surgical instruments to the decontamination area for the team to perform instrument sterilization for specialized instrument turnovers utilizing principles as outlined by AAMI standards. • Responsible for equipment and supplies used to clean OR rooms for surgical procedures. • The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned. TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES • Surgical Equipment Knowledge (Novice): Knowledge of the specific equipment and its performance criteria, capabilities and limitations. Able to use the equipment to accomplish basic tasks associated with the specific devices. May conduct remedial maintenance and preventive maintenance. • Sterilization Preparation (Fundamental Awareness): Has limited experience, training, direct exposure, or past experience working with sterilization preparation. • Customer Service (Fundamental Awareness): Demonstrates an awareness of the need for good customer relations.
