General Description:
Seeking a Collections Assistant for busy full-service general contractor and roofing services company.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Review Accounts Receivable aging report, identify outstanding receivables and initiate collections.
- Assist customers with billing questions and work with management and project personnel to resolve customer billing issues.
- Update Accounts Receivable reporting for management review.
- Prepare and send demand letters on outstanding accounts.
- Prepare notices of intent to lien, preliminary notices and lien statements to be filed in the appropriate counties.
- Prepare lien releases to be filed in appropriate counties upon payment from customer.
- Provide all backup information to outside counsel as requested.
- Perform special assignments/tasks as assigned by Legal Department.
Work Experience, Skills and Other Requirements:
- 2-3 years of collections experience.
- Must be detail oriented and be able to meet strict deadlines.
- General knowledge of office machinery i.e. fax, copier, scanner, etc.
- Outstanding written, verbal, and analytical skills.
- Able to produce very accurate work.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple departments and personnel.
- Ability to research legal property descriptions in multiple states.
- Must have a general understanding of county recording and lien filing requirements.
- Knowledge of structure and content on the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer programs.
