Basic Qualifications :
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking an Electrical Engineer with RF/mW experience within one or more of the following areas: Integrated Circuit (IC), Multi-Chip Module (MCM), hybrid, amplifier, filter and other electronic component technologies. Responsibilities include oversight of design, fabrication, screening and test processes of components for use in deliverable products to NASA and other government agencies and programs. The candidate will be involved in all aspects of component development, design, fabrication, testing, screening, and qualification of complex active and passive devices.

As a Commodity Engineer on our Component Engineering Team, you will bring the latest technologies to bear on our Nation's critical missions. From semiconductors to complex receiver-processor systems, you will ensure the RF and hybrid technology components perform reliably in challenging space environments. The GDMS team will look to your leadership to:
  • Assist design engineers and drive the identification and selection of RF component technologies to advance our space products.
  • Work closely with project engineers, customers, QA and Suppliers to ensure compliance to flow down requirements from customers
  • Work with suppliers to understand their product portfolios, roadmaps and capabilities to help GDMS designers, programs and the purchasing department to support new technology integration.
  • Review new component requests and validate supplier information against requirements details
  • Lead component-level failure analysis and root cause analyses working with programs to identify corrective action and recovery plans
  • Develop parts procurement drawings, trade studies, analyses and other relevant component documentation
  • Support occasional travel to meet with customers and suppliers, participate in supplier quality, capability audits and internal source inspections as required

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Broad experience and understanding of electrical engineering concepts, principles and theories with emphasis on RF and Microwave component and hardware for space applications. Knowledgeable about RF/mW test methods and data formats. Contribute to the development of new designs, component performance, manufacturing methods and material sciences.

Salary Note: This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. Combined Salary Range: USD $88,000.00 - USD $98,000.00 /Yr. Company Overview:
