GENERAL JOB DUTIES

Supervisor of DSP's in teaching, training, and promoting independence in people with developmental disabilities. Serves as a role model of appropriate socialization, interaction, and communication skills. Ensures a safe, clean, open environment for learning. Complies with regulatory standards.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Oversee daily work or activities are being completed within the program.
  • Coordinate transportation and services with other departments/facilities. May need to assist with transportation at times.
  • Maintain supplies in areas utilizing petty cash.
  • Serve as a member of person-centered team
  • Complete paperwork necessary to accomplish regulatory compliance and maximize supported individuals' growth towards goals and outcomes, as applicable.
  • Monitor documentation of groups both paper and electronically.
  • Promote individuals supported in learning to be independent.
  • Promotes and supports healthy lifestyle for individuals supported.
  • Teach classes of interest to individuals supported.
  • Participate as an instructor for employee training as needed.
  • Supervise all DSP's on site, which may include training, performance appraisal and discipline.
  • Adhere to all agency policies and procedures.


ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in assigned trainings and State-wide meetings.
  • Attend all required meeting, committees and staffings.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent leadership, organization, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Valid driver's license required with a driving record acceptable to agency insurer.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • DSP trained with trainings current.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • May be required to get CDL.
  • Must meet the Illinois Department of Transportations requirements to hold a safety sensitive position.
