The Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Brain Imaging, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Community Outreach Representative to join our team. The Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Brain Imaging (CCBBI), directed by Dr. Ruchika Prakash, is a state-of-the art imaging center, housing a research-dedicated 3T Siemens Prisma scanner and supporting principal investigators across the university conducting scientific investigations related to human and animal imaging. The Community Outreach Representative develops, plans, and supervises center initiatives, and serves as lead resource in execution of outreach activities that involve coordination among various stakeholders.

The community outreach representative plays a critical role in developing, planning, and overseeing various center initiatives. As the lead resource for executing outreach activities, coordinates with various stakeholders, including administration, faculty members, research scientists, and students. Coordinates the undergraduate diversity initiative; plans, orchestrates, and facilitates the CCBBI Research Day; and conducts outreach activities at local schools, other departments within OSU, and other community groups interested in brain research. Provides guidance to the center's graduate research associate, who will help with the coordination and execution of all activities.

The community outreach representative is responsible for establishing and implementing center business initiatives that meet the needs of diverse stakeholders. This includes coordinating all procurement needs, coordinating travel arrangements, and is responsible for billing center users for services. Collaborates with the senior department manager to ensure the center's fiscal operations are well-organized. Moreover, serves as the primary contact for center users and oversees the coordination and implementation of pilot and funded studies while maintaining detailed records of past and current studies.

The community outreach representative supports the center director by scheduling meetings with various stakeholders, managing center business tasks, and collaborating on planning for future initiatives and outreach activities. Provides assistance in writing and editing grant documents, promotional items, and policy documents, which is an essential component of the center's operations. Assists in ensuring that these documents are accurately and effectively communicated to stakeholders.

The community outreach representative will also provide administrative support to the center director and the center team as needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience. A minimum of two years of relevant experience

The ideal candidate for this position should hold a graduate degree in a relevant discipline and possess two to four years of experience in planning and implementing programs. The candidate should possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams within an academic or university environment.

Additionally, the candidate should have strong organizational and prioritization skills, with a keen attention to detail. The candidate should have a demonstrated track record of building relationships among diverse groups and working effectively with them. The candidate should also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex issues that may arise in the course of their work.

The candidate should have a broad understanding of neuroscience and psychology, along with excellent presentation skills.

The candidate should also have experience working in a high-performing, results-oriented organizational culture and be familiar with effective performance management systems. Additionally, the candidate should have experience with outreach efforts and be comfortable communicating with stakeholders.

The pay range for this job profile is $46,100.00 - $61,450.00. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
