Community Support Professional
Job description
Make a difference in the life of a person whom may have a disability by becoming a Community Respite Worker. The Community Respite Worker will work 1:1 with a person doing several community-based activities. The Respite Worker will assist and encourage the person to connect and engage with their community. This position offers a wonderful opportunity to teach, model and encourage building and maintaining relationships while providing supports to make a meaningful day. Opportunities are available for part time hours; days, evenings and weekends. Schedule flexible.
Qualifications:
- An interest in working with families who have a physically, developmentally, emotionally, or other life challenged family member. Experience in the field is always a bonus!
- Must be at least of eighteen (18) years of age.
- High School Diploma
- First Aid and CPR certification required (onboard training).
- Must have a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.
- Own vehicle willing to transport individual to and from locations.
- Clear CORI and SORI.
- This position requires employees to provide COVID-19 vaccination status
Essential Functions:
To complete detailed time sheets, including a description of activities, obtain family signatures on time sheets and submit these time sheets in accordance with the Seven Hills payroll schedule.
To collect and submit all receipts as required.
To provide one to one support to individuals without exceeding allotted hours.
To complete orientation and all trainings as required by Seven Hills Family Services, Inc., and the Department of Developmental Services. Maintain all required documentation and certifications.
To attend specific job related training as assigned.
To maintain a working knowledge of the Seven Hills Family Services Support Worker Manual and Seven Hills Policies and Procedures.
To be knowledgeable of community activities.
To support each individual’s existing relationships and increase their networks of friends and acquaintances.
To communicate regularly with families, individuals and Seven Hills Family Support staff.
Consistently maintain an agreed upon schedule.
To report any change and/or concerns impacting the individual/family to the Seven Hills contact in a timely manner.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
