Concrete Form Setter/Finisher

Three Oaks Contractors is currently seeking a qualified Concrete form setter/finisher to support Three Oaks Contractors within the Charleston, SC area. The Concrete form setter/finisher will be responsible for supporting concrete projects including concrete curb and gutter, ADA sidewalks, and other various types of flatwork, to include setting string line, form setting and finishing concrete to acceptable standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Comply with all policies, procedures and safety requirements as outlined by Three Oaks Contractors.
  • Work on commercial, DOT and residential projects including curb & gutter, ADA sidewalk, ADA ramps and other flatwork as needed.
  • Align and set concrete forms withing acceptable ADA tolerances.
  • Assist with finishing/pouring concrete which may include dye, color, stamp or various other types of finish.
  • Safely operate various types of saws (rotary saws, reciprocating saws, etc.)
  • Understand concrete measurements.
  • Operating a power vibrator to compress concrete
  • Ability to use all tools required by the concrete trade.
  • Placing forms that hold concrete to ensure the required depth and pitch is achieved.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed which may require working more than 40 hours.
  • Work in varying weather conditions and work environments including dusty, wet, loud noises, etc.
  • Keep work site areas and company vehicle clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns or vehicle or site problems.
  • Perform any other general duties as specified.
  • Work safely and efficiently as a team.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 0-2 years experience (preferred) working with concrete, building/dismantling forms and supporting concrete pouring/finishing operation.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record by complying with standards established by company policy.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Experience finishing curb, gutter, drains and ADA ramps (preferred).
  • Knowledge on materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction. Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.
  • Employee will need to be able to stand, walk, bend, squat and lift for potentially extended periods of time.
  • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.
  • May be required to lift, carry and move up to 80lbs.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and leather work boots.
  • Must meet employment standards with regards to drug and background checks.
  • Must have the ability to stand, crawl and kneel for long periods of time.
  • Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc.
