Job description
We have an immediate need for a technician in our Colorado Springs office. EST, Inc. is a full-service engineering firm, with well-established offices located throughout Colorado, Oklahoma, California, and Texas. Benefits:

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Roadway and bridge construction experience is preferred.
- Ability to read contract documents and construction plans.
- Perform notification of work and notice of completion inspections.
- Perform observation and inspection according to prescribed procedures and standards.
- Inspect on-site traffic control and document compliance of with approved traffic control plans and MHTs.
- Monitor contractor’s utility coordination.
- Verify contractor coordination with businesses and residents during construction.
- Use specialized equipment and apparatus to prepare reports and technical data.
- Operate computer systems and peripheral equipment.
- Maintain results log.
- Confer with Engineering staff on permit coordination and inspection efforts.
- Serve in a lead worker capacity providing work direction and training to lower-level technician staff.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Work with other task team members and leaders.
- Considerable contact with clients, subcontractors, and vendors expected.
- Observe construction safety, public safety, and convenience.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three years’ experience in Public Works construction and inspection or equivalent or a combination of education and experience.
- Able to prepare reports and documentation.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Field assignments may require travel and/or work to be performed on site.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Applicable Certifications:
- ACI Grade 1 certified Concrete Filed Testing Technician.
- LabCAT Certification Level I Asphalt Inspector.
- Western Alliance for Quality Transportation Construction (WAQTC).
- Traffic Control Supervisor Certification.
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Access to Sidewalks, Curb Ramps, and Other Components of Public Rights-of-Way Training.
- Stormwater Management and Erosion Control During Construction Training.
