Superintendent

Pessoa Construction Company, Inc., a general contractor in heavy highway construction located in Fairmount Heights, MD. We have been building the future for over 35 years and aspire to continue to grow and expand. We are looking for a Superintendent to oversee and manage our projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Foremen, crew members, office personnel, and subcontractors
• Schedule crews and review/approve foremen’s daily HCSS Field TimeCard
• Determine method of construction, manpower level, and material and equipment requirements
• Attend field operation meetings
• Attend Internal Coordination Meetings
• Assist with resolution of conflicts and emergencies when they arise
• Evaluate production daily and find ways to improve crew’s performance
• Responsible for all field operations of assigned projects and/or assigned crews
• Adhere to Health and Safety regulations

Qualifications:

• At least 4 years of field supervision experience in Storm, Water & Sewer Utilities
• At least 4 years of field supervision experience in Concrete Flatwork
• At least 4 years of field supervision experience in Structural Concrete Work
• At least 4 years of field supervision experience in Bridge Work
• Extensive knowledge of all phases of construction, as well as related construction
• Experience with projects for Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA), Maryland Department of Transportation Authority (MDTA), Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC), Virginia Depart of Transportation (VDOT) and other Maryland Municipalities is a plus
• Basic understanding of HCSS Field HeavyJob (preferred)
• Basic understanding of Procore (preferred)
• Ability to read and understand project drawing and specifications
• Strong organizational and management skills and attention to detail
• Spanish as a 2nd language is a plus

• ProCore: 1 year (Preferred)
