Job Title: Content Writer Department: WS
Expected Weekly Hours: 40 Reports to: Operations Manager
Location: Remote
Pat Range: $68.10 - $70.50/hour
Position Summary
This position is responsible for drafting various technical materials and providing revision control of those materials supporting the client’s product/service portfolio. If you are a writer who enjoys elegantly organizing complex information and transferring it into human friendly documentation, this position is for you!
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices or operating and maintenance instructions for a technical audience
  • Organize material and complete writing assignments according to the client’s set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
  • Maintain records, files of work and revisions
  • Confer with end user to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication
  • May assist with the development and/or improvement of documentation organization plan(s)
  • Perform other duties as needed
Job Requirements
Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, English, Technical Communications, Journalism or related field
  • 10+ years of professional writing experience in tech or tech-adjacent field, experience to include
    • Writing technical content e.g., datasheets, operating and maintenance manuals/tutorials, etc.
    • Direct correspondence with end users gathering research on documentation needs
    • 3+ years using business (enterprise) applications e.g., SAP, SQL, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, etc.
    • 3+ years defining, developing, implementing and/or following content creation and document control processes
  • Experience integrating code (e.g., C, C++, Python, etc.) into technical content
Qualifications:
  • Must be able to accomplish objectives that span multiple product or subject areas, and possess proactive and strategic problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to participate in planning and design, and contribute to a project from end to end with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to combine technical expertise with technical communication skills
  • Must have demonstrated interest in, and knowledge of, broad but related areas of technology
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee a complex documentation set
  • Highly detailed and organized approach to project and process management, with proven experience in establishing and maintaining strong collaborative relationships across a varied set of stakeholders and organizations
  • Excellent communicator with expertise in written, visual and presentation formats and running effective stakeholder connection rhythms.
  • Self-starter, with shared ownership mindset and excellent attention to detail
  • Self-awareness, the ability to be self-critical, and a strong desire to learn and grow
  • Excellent email, telephone and virtual meeting etiquette
  • Customer service orientated, ensuring needs are met in a timely fashion
  • Ability to take opportunities for continuous improvement and implement documented process improvements
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently; demonstrated organization, problem-solving, project management, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated strong ability to remotely work well within a team environment, or independently; strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to work and interact effectively with team members from other disciplines, cultures, and organizations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively inform and present ideas confidently and persuasively to peers and managers
  • Ability to take initiative to ask questions, ask for help, or provide updates, without reluctance
  • Ability to meet the eligibility requirements for working in the US without RLA sponsorship for employment visa status
  • Strong computer skills that include proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio), Teams and SharePoint

Language Skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel; reach with hand and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • At times, may require more than 40 hours per week to perform the duties of the position.

  • The position typically operates in a standard office environment.
  • This role may use standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
