Position Summary:
The Controller position at Systems Specialties will serve as functional lead for the accounting and financial operational support. This position will be a “hands-on” position in driving the successful growth of the organization and will play an important part in improving operational effectiveness, maximize cashflow, working capital and maximize team-member value. This position will report to the Vice President of Accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the close process of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting and preparation of timely and accurate financial reports
- Complete month end close procedures and related journal entries
- Provide support for the annual audit
- Provide support for the annual budgeting process
- Provide weekly and monthly reports as requested
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax reports
- Track capital expenditures
- Assist in the evaluation and improvement of necessary controls and procedures to drive the integrity of financial statements
- Oversee all accounting functions including cash management, accounts receivable, accounts receivable inventory, work in process and invoicing
- Identify financial gaps and opportunities, and work with VP of Accounting to implement and monitor compliance.
- Provide support to the Vice President of Accounting and Chief Financial Officer as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:.
- Advanced excel skills and proficient in other Microsoft Office Applications
- Strong understanding GAAP
- Speak to customers in a professional and respectful etiquette, even in interactions of stress, complaint, or urgency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced Excel Skills
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
- 3+ years’ experience in an accounting position.
- Experience with manufacturing operations preferred
- Experience with multiple reporting locations preferred
Work Environment
- Ability to work at a desk for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
