Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars, IA has a full-time position (36-40 hours per week) in our Dietary Department for a Cook. Hours are Monday through Friday 11am - 7:30pm with every other weekend and every other holiday.

Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars was one of only two hospitals in northwest Iowa to receive a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The Plymouth County hospital was one of 407 hospitals nationwide to receive the 5-star rating and only facility in the immediate area to rank that high.

Cook Responsibilities:

• The Cook is responsible for the handling and preparing of food as prescribed by Floyd Valley Healthcare policies and in accordance with state regulations.
• Must be able to read and write English and have good math skills and some computer knowledge.
• Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• The Cook will provide supervision to kitchen staff on the weekends, evenings and when manager is not on duty.
• Will assist in food service by assembling patient menus, trays, and delivering meal to patients. In addition to dish room and duties with meals provided to our assisted living facility.
• Must have great customer service and communication skills. to visit with patients about meal options and deliver and set up meal trays.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Mandatory Reporter training certificate a plus; certification is required as an employee.
