Are you ready for an exciting new opportunity? Want to join a diverse team that is collaborative and passionate about journalism and reporting? Royal Media is seeking an experienced Copy Editor to join the editorial team.

The Copy Editor will review editorial for publication at various intervals and for a range of media channels, including online content and industry conferences. The Copy Editor also works with reporters and editors to help them to become better writers and journalists. The Copy Editor will report to Royal’s Managing Editor and coordinate with the editors and production team to facilitate seamless flow of copy.

Responsibilities:

· Review daily copy for both content, quality and readability and AP style

· Proof editorial team copy for events, such as agendas and editorial posts on events

· Monitor Royal’s editorial social media for grammatical quality

· Monitor companywide copy editing to identify strengths and weaknesses and devise strategies to improve performance

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Written and oral communication skills

· Time management skills

· Multitasking skills

· The ability to work under pressure

· The ability to meet tight deadlines

· Organization skills

Education and Experience:

· BA degree (required), a major or concentration in communications or journalism preferred

· Solid knowledge of AP style

· B2B copy editing experience is a plus
