THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR NEWPARK'S HYBRID WORK ENVIRONMENT
Under general supervision the Corporate Accountant II performs general accounting work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character, but usually involving limited responsibility. May prepare income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements and various other accounting statements and reports. Analyses financial reports and records, makes studies or recommendations relative to accounting reserves and assets. Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal vouchers, accounting methods and procedures. Handles special projects, as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Assist in maintaining corporate general ledgers, ensuring transactions are recorded and balances are reported in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policy.
- Perform month-end close process/tasks, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations/analysis in line with the monthly and quarterly close schedules.
- Accounting and consolidation analysis including fixed assets, intercompany, cash, etc.
- Assist in preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and management reports.
- Contribute to quarterly/annual SEC financial reporting.
- Provide support for coordination with division finance management for the annual budget process and monthly forecast updates.
- Comply with internal controls/SOX activities for corporate close process.
- Provide support for internal & external audit requests.
- Suggest, support and implement department and ERP system process improvement projects.
- Maintain chart of accounts and business unit structure in Hyperion.
- Assist with special projects and financial support as needed.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or educational equivalent.
- 3 years' experience.
- Possesses and applies knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Good attention to detail with good analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced PC skills.
- Ability to handle multiple activities successfully.
